The Whiteness project is the race training arm of the club founded in summer 2012 after good results in the Spey marathon. It has collected in all the local active racers in the inner Moray Firth to work together and get faster.
The core Coaching team are Calum Urquhart, Whiteness Project Head Coach, ex GB White water racing team and winner of the past two Oban Sea Kayak races, Michael Surmon, South African Youth Marathon Champion and overall winner of the Highland Series 2012 and Steve Mackinnon, BCU level 5 coach, System X \ Pyranha \ Werner \ Wilderness Systems \ Palm team paddler and coach.
The project maintains during the temperate months 2 boat morning sessions and morning gym session for the core team and a Thursday evening general training session. During the winter months we retire to the gym and hold a Wednesday evening Caledonian Canal boat night, head torches and all that when weather and road conditions permit. Contact us via the club Facebook to get involved and find out more.
The Motto is - Smarter, Stronger, Faster. Following our philosophy that we need to race clever with good technique, make the effort to get fit enough to compete and then we will get faster. Want to win, or just want to get fitter and healthier, we don’t mind, come and join us.
